Display Case

An opening display case for a .44 Colt Frontier Special.  

The pistol is supported with custom crafted formed rod mounts.  The mounts, constructed from 1/8" brass rod, have a protective rubberized coating. They are epoxied in place to a 3/16" ply backing behind the hand wrapped Tivoli Taupe interior. One rod sits just behind the trigger guard, the other just in front of the ejector rod.
Both case and door are constructed from CMI burlwood moulding. The interior of the door frame was stained matching dark walnut then finished with paste wax. The door uses 14mm barrel hinges, and a magnetic closure, and is glazed with AG92 anti-reflective glass. Hanging system is  Z-bar with a security T bolt.
